Facts About One2One Diet
One2One Diet is a weight loss company started around the 1960s by Dr Alan Howard, a biochemist. The company was commercially launched in 1984.
In the early days, it was called Cambridge Weight Plan and in 2018, it was rebranded to 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan.
The name change was inspired by the company’s business style that is giving importance to the one-to-one relationships between dieter and consultant.
The company is headquartered in Northamptonshire, England, where the products are also being manufactured.
The company is a member of the Direct Selling Association (DSA) UK and Employee Ownership Association (EOA).
It has been a recipient of several awards such as the 2020 ROSPA Gold Medal Award, Investors in People Silver accreditation, Employee Owned Business of the Year Award 2019 and Cyber Essentials Certification.
The One2One Diet Products
One2One Diet offers nutritionally balanced meal replacements. It works in such a way where your consultant will create a diet plan for you and you can choose from the One2One diet range of meals.
These include shakes, soups, porridge, bars, bites, savoury meals, smoothies, water flavourings, and snacks of various flavours.
There are over 35 products to choose from as of this writing from the One2One diet. Each product pack contains approximately 200 calories or less.
Each meal with One2One products is said to cost around GBP2.63 (Euro 3.03).
Also, it has been said that the One2One diet meals are supported by research and have been refined to work for years.
There are 6 steps in the One2One diet plan. You can follow them step by step or you can adjust as per your preference. Here is the summary of the steps.
Step 1. You can lose weight quickly and effectively by replacing all your meals with meal replacements.
Step 2. Three products and a healthy meal of your choice.
Step 3. Two products and a healthy breakfast of your choice.
Step 4. For people with an active lifestyle, choose 2 products and you can have lunch, dinner and 1 snack.
Step 5. One product and you can have your meal the healthy way.
Step 6. Your consultant will still be with you and you can always bring a bar or pack of bites with you.
How Can You Join The One2One Diet As A Consultant?
To be a consultant with One2One Diet, you need to pick a sponsor, complete your application form, book & attend your training, purchase a starter kit and start building your business.
The training essential and starter kit cost GBP230 (EUR230). These give you the needed tools to start your business and the products that you can start selling and using.
The One2One Diet Compensation Plan
One2One Diet has no compensation plan disclosed on the company’s corporate website. I tried searching the internet and I cannot find any as well. It seems that One2One Diet’s compensation plan is called Pathway to Success.
Based on the video posted on the company’s corporate website that is available here, consultants mentioned that they earned by buying the items at a discounted price and selling them at a suggested retail price.
Also, when you build your team, you can earn team commission from your team’s sales. The details and qualifications in getting these commissions though are not clear because One2One Diet has no available compensation plan that is out in the open for the public’s reference.
However, it is clear that for consultants to earn, they need to sell the company products and recruit people to become consultants as well. Being a member of Direct Selling Association UK, consultants are bound by a certain code of ethics in doing network marketing, direct selling, and social selling whichever way of person-to-person selling you want to call it.
Just like most MLM business models, with One2One Diet, experience is not a requirement to join. You can choose from working part-time or full-time hours and be your own boss.
There is also no need to keep an inventory and the company can ship directly to your customers at their preference. As a consultant, you must be willing to coach your customers throughout their diet from start to finish.
Can You Make Money As A Consultant With One2One Diet?
One2One Diet has no income disclosure statement available on its website. On its consultants’ testimonies on the company website, you will see some success stories but there are no specific details on how much the consultants were able to earn and how much work they exerted on achieving their success.
There is also a Statutory Wealth Warning on the company’s corporate website that says that “It is illegal for a promoter or a participant in a trading scheme to persuade anyone to make a payment by promising benefits from getting others to join a scheme. Do not be misled by claims that high earnings are easily achieved.”
Given this lack of information on One2One Diet’s compensation plan and income disclosure statement, we cannot help but discuss the real situation of MLM consultants based on the information across the industry.
The success rate in MLM in terms of achieving full-time income earnings or more is only 1%. We often see about 50% of consultants from MLM companies earning insignificant amounts to nothing. The average income usually falls to $500 or less annually.
These are a few sad truths about MLM companies and without the income disclosure statement such as in the case of One2One Diet, these realities cannot be disproved. Just like what the consultants said, their success was made possible with their hard work and in network marketing, selling, and recruiting are not easy tasks.
Such works require commitment, determination, and persistence. Also, in the case of MLM business models, where rewards are paid at multiple levels, there is the tendency for members on higher ranks to benefit from the earnings of members at lower ranks at the latter’s expense.
The Pros And Cons Of The One2One Opportunity
Should You Become A Consultant With The One2One Diet? - Final Thoughts
One2One Diet is a legally established and stable company with several decades of operation. It was founded by an expert on the field and the products have been improved through time.
The company has been a recipient of several awards and accreditation including membership to Direct Selling Association where its members are bound by ethical code in direct selling.
The products are retail-viable and have been proven to work although with some side effects and limitations that surely can be outweighed by their benefits.
However, if you are looking to become one of One2One Diet’s consultants, the company’s compensation plan and income disclosure statement are not readily available for everyone’s review. You can check this with your sponsor when you can find one.
Also, we cannot discount the fact that One2One Diet works on an MLM business model where consultants are required to sell and recruit to earn an income.
Studies on MLM and even our MLM review which we have been doing for years have established some sad truths about MLM and given the information available about One2One Diet’s business opportunity offerings, there is not much evidence that these sad outcomes in MLM industry don’t apply in the case of One2One Diet.
