This post is all about how you can make money as affiliate marketer especially when you are relatively new in this business.

There are several ways how you can monetize your website. You could place ads on your site using GoogleAdsense, sell your own products,  do email marketing… just to name a few options.

The Process Of Making Money Online

Your website is the foundation of your affiliate marketing business. Everything starts with building a website; without a website, you won’t be able to earn money online. That is a simple truth.

On the left, you see your audience. These people are searching either through Google/Bing/Yahoo or social networking platforms for a particular product or for an answer to a question they may have.

Your number one goal is to rank on page 1 or 2 so your audience will find your website. To get there, you will need to learn different techniques from keyword research, SEO, content writing, using images and much more.

So, your audience has made it to your website and discovers quality and valuable information they have been looking for. And if these people click on, for instance, your Amazon link and buy the product or something else, you will get paid a commission. A win-win for all three parties. The reader found a solution to his problem; you earn a commission because you provided an excellent service through your site and Amazon made a sale.

How Long Does It Take To Earn Money

This is the most common question for anyone who puts a foot into the online world. And there is not really a strict guideline for it.

Can you make money in affiliate marketing? YES!!!!

But how long it takes depends on various factors. Most people who start an online business like blogging etc. work regular full or part-time jobs. That means the time this person has available is a bit limited. My thumb of rule is: if you can post on a regular basis at least once a week you should be okay.

Regularity is the key. I started my affiliate marketing business while I was working full-time plus I have three children as well. But guess what, I made time for it. I scheduled hours in the evenings and early in the morning to work on my online business.

I feel passionate about my websites and was (and still am) keen to learn as much as possible. The internet and its opportunities are fascinating but can also be quite overwhelming.

I made my first sale after three months, and it felt absolutely amazing. This gave me reassurance that affiliate marketing works. The sky is truly the limit!

But beware! For others,  it can take six months or even longer. The toughest part is not to give up and to work hard and consistently. It’s more about the bigger picture.

You build a solid foundation first (your website), and then you nurture it and give it some love. Slowly but surely it will grow to a successful business.

I treat my sites like little seedlings that will grow into beautiful plants over time. I look after them, feed them with quality content, show them off on Facebook and Pinterest and take extra care of them.

Key Ingredients 

The money side won’t happen without a website, without content, and without traffic. These are the three key elements.

Traffic is King and content are Queen and together these two are the key to success.

If you have read my about me page, then you know that I was a complete newbie to the world of online business over a year ago. In the past twelve months, I have built three fully functional websites and have started to make money with them.

It is not a full-time income yet. My goal is to achieve this in the next couple of years. That is a long time you think? I don’t believe so. It is a realistic goal since I still have a regular day job and other commitments.
