Unicity International is a health and wellness company launched in 2001 in Utah, USA.

Although the company's history dated back to 1972,  it was restructured to what it is now from the merger of Rexall Showcase and Enrich International in 2001.

Both companies manufacture and sell various health products such as nutritional supplements, weight management and personal care items. 

Now, the company has a scientific advisory board consisting of experts in the field of science, medicine and nutrition. 

The company has a charitable arm, the MLB Foundation. The current company Chairman and CEO is Stewart Hughes, a leader with background in financial services and independent distributorship.

While the current Unicity President is Christopher Kim, a seasoned executive for more than 14 years.  

Unicity has a file in Better Business Bureau but the company is not rated.  

I found some lawsuits that the company had faced previously involving issues with contractual agreement in one case and presence of lead on its products on another.

There are several ways to earn from Unicity’s compensation plan, here are some of these.

• Buying the products at a discount and selling them by retail price lets distributors earn retail profit oftentimes at 30% rate.
• Business development bonus is at 10-20% depending on one’s cumulative personal volume.
• Personal rebate bonus applies after reaching 1000 PV and is computed at 5-10% depending on the distributor’s personal volume.
• Team development bonus applies once you have already built your team and have reached 1000 CPV. The bonus rate is 3-5% up to 5th level and would depend on the member’s PV. 
• Organization bonus also rewards members with sponsored distributors. Depending on rank, a distributor can earn from 1-5% up to 12th generation. 
• Rank bonus is paid from the ranks of Director and up under certain conditions. This bonus amounts to $150-$1000 depending on one’s rank.
• Presidential club achiever’s bonus is for distributors with at least Presidential Director rank. This is paid every 3 months under certain conditions and amounts to $10000 to $100000.
• Upon reaching the highest rank of Presidential Diamond, one can qualify to own an additional distributor position.

How Much Money Can I Earn With Unicity International?

According to Unicity’s income disclosure statement from data of distributors’ income from the company in 2015, only 21% of the distributors were paid commissions directly from Unicity.

The rest gets their commissions from the retail profit coming from the distributor's discount. This only means that technically about 79% of the distributors in 2015 were not able to qualify for the commissions as provided in the compensation plan hence they received nothing from the company directly. 

Out of the 21% of the distributors that were paid with commissions by the company, their average earnings was more than $3300.

 Half of these distributors earned more than $125 while 10% earned more than $2300. Only 1% were paid more than $46,000.

Not to mention that to be able to receive these commissions there is always the condition to maintain 100PV each bonus month.

 These income figures from Unicity are not really surprising. Having reviewed several multi-level marketing (MLM) companies in the past, these income phenomena are unfortunately the norm in MLM setup. 

Looking back at Unicity’s average income of distributors who were paid by the company and how much more than half of these distributors received just confirms the fact that income is skewed to the right.

This just means that even more distributors are paid less than the average earnings of $3300 and since 10% only earned more than $2300, this means that distributors earning more than average that is $3300 is even less than 10%.

 This average income of $3300 is not even a decent extra income that one with a business can wish for. Such income distribution is really unfair to distributors.

 I cannot help but think that distributors’ efforts, especially new ones, just put more gains to the coffers of the people on top of the organization rather than benefiting their own business that should supposedly be the case in any business.

To end our review of Unicity International, we can agree to the fact that Unicity International has indeed a rich product portfolio containing scientifically-formulated products to help customers achieve their health, wellness and fitness goals.

Also, we cannot downplay the company history for having thrived for years. It expanded to other marketplaces, added more product lines and offered health and fitness programs to its customers. 

However, it is clear that Unicity lacks on its business opportunity offerings to its distributors. We saw that it lacks in retail focus.

 It requires a relatively high sales quota from distributors to qualify for commissions.

 These shortcomings are evident in the company’s income disclosure statement where very few received commissions equivalent to full-time income.

Even distributors getting a decent extra income comprises below 10%.

 For people looking for a business opportunity, these occurrences can be a big letdown. With all these in mind, we will be leaving it up to you from here to decide if this company is for you as each of us has his/her own preference.
