My detailed review will give you an insight on the Perfectly Posh company and also some pointers on what it takes to be successful in a direct selling company.

I have been involved with a direct selling company for four years and know a thing or two about being a sale person.

But wait, I am getting ahead of myself. Let’s have a detailed look at Perfectly Posh first.

Founder/CEO: Ann Dalton
Start-Up Costs: $99 (shipping and taxes not included)
Our Rating: 50/100

Perfectly Posh is one of a zillion other direct selling companies that promote the idea (especially to women) to make a good income by selling body care products like soap bars, facial cleansers, body washes and the likes.

You can do this either through online parties or pampering events which you can organize at your place or a hostess home.

Perfectly Posh has been launched in 2011 and is based in Salt Lake City.

According to very mixed reviews about the company regarding customer service and customer complaints, there seem to be a few issues that need to be addressed. I will talk about in more detail later.

Getting Started With Perfectly Posh

Perfectly Posh Starter Kit $99

Even though I haven’t been a consultant with Perfectly Posh, the principles and requirements to become a successful consultant in the direct selling industry are always the same.

A Starter Kit will cost you $99 and includes three bags filled with products. The first one is for you, so you can ‘pamper yourself’ and get to know the products. The second bag is filled with samples to give to friends and family. The third one contains products to sell.

What I have noticed is, that there are no business flyers or other collateral material that goes with the business bag. There is also no indication that a new consultant will receive any training on how to run the business or how to do the “Pampering Event.”

Similar companies are Nerium, Pamper Boutique, or SeneGence.

‘Pampering Event’ is the term Perfectly Posh is using to entice women who are feeling stressed, are overwhelmed by work and family duties to take time out and to spoil themselves with Perfectly Posh products.

Even though I like the idea of being pampered, it will take a lot of time and effort to find women who are willing to host these ‘Pampering Events”.

In general,  you’ll need to build a network of people who you can sell the products to.

Usually, it starts with friends and family, and from there you need to reach new customers who are happy to invite people to their place and host a pampering event for you.

Having been in the direct selling industry myself, you need to know how to overcome objections, like I don’t have time to host a party or I don’t know anyone or the products are too expensive. By the way, these are the most common objections.

You have to be confident talking on the phone and to recruit new people. Most importantly, you need to get a proper sales training to say the right things to overcome objections people have.

If you don’t get trained, you are set up to fail in this type of business.

If you feel comfortable recruiting and selling than Perfectly Posh might be a good choice for you. If you don’t like these things, then read here how you could make money by building an online business.

Can You Make Money With Perfectly Posh

The company pays at least a 20% commission on every sale. While this seems quite a good commission at first, when you look at the price range of the products which is between $9 and $30 in average, you have to sell a lot of products to earn good money.

As an example, to earn a $ 100 commission means you need to reach $500 in sales. That is a tremendous amount of soap bars, facial cleanser, etc. that you would need to sell.

So to make money, you must recruit new people to earn a commission on their sales and so on. You get the point.

I am sure; a few people will start but how many will actually continue their journey. It is a tough business, and if you don’t have the gift of the gap, you most likely won’t succeed.

Perfectly Posh doesn’t reveal what the average sales are at a pampering event nor do they show how much in commission you’ll get on the sales of your recruits.

So if you are already a PP consultant, maybe you could share some details with my readers.

Unless you have a massive network of friends and family, I doubt that you can make money with Perfectly Posh. Even as a side hustle, the expenses of buying the starter kit, getting business cards, flyers, travel costs, etc. add up quickly.

Before you make money for yourself, you need to have enough sales to cover these costs first. To earn a full-time income of say $2000, a sales volume of around $10 000 is required.

How About The Products

Another critical factor for success is the product you are trying to sell. The product has to be unique and of outstanding quality (compared to similar products) to justify the higher price tag.

Do Perfectly Posh products tick these boxes?  The clear answer is no. I can’t see any reason why I should by a bar of soap for $9 when I can get an organic soap, handmade and with natural ingredients from Amazon for less money and shipped in a day.

Where is the point of difference? Are the ingredients certified organic? The company only says ‘natural based’ ingredients.

A closer look at the ingredients list for the ‘Gender Bender’ soap bar reveals that it contains palm oil. Really? Many customers don’t want palm oil in their products because of ethical reasons.

Are the products animal tested?  We don’t know. Are the ingredients certified organic? Most likely not.

The only positive side for me is that they are made in the USA. Is this good enough to buy Perfectly Posh products? You decide.

In my opinion, they are to many questions and not enough facts.

Complaints About Perfectly Posh bbb rating for perfectly posh

When I did my research, I checked the BBB.org website to see how Perfectly Posh is doing according to BBB terms.

Firstly, Perfectly Posh is not BBB accredited. It has a low rating of F due to several customer complaints.

Most complaints are addressing issues like late shipment, missing items, overpriced items, and problems with consultants.

To give Perfectly Posh credit, in most cases they have tried to resolve the issues.

Problems with a consultant can also be caused by a lack of proper training.

It is always about customer service and Perfectly Posh needs to be offering training about the products, how to sell and how to provide the best customer service.

Unfortunately, a bad experience sticks longer than a positive one. Once you have had an issue with a company, you won’t be back as a customer for sure.

Here Are The Pros And Cons At A Glance

What Are The Pros Of Starting A Business With Perfectly Posh?

  • The start-up costs are relatively low with $99 (plus shipping and tax)
  • Nice concept of offering ‘Pamper Events’ for women
  • Work your own hours
  • A reasonable business opportunity for ‘social butterflies’ and people who love selling and the direct selling industry.

What Are The Cons?

  • There is no point of difference between PP’s product range to lower priced products from other brands.
  • To make a good income, you have to either sell lots and lots of products and/or recruit new consultants consistently.
  • You need an extensive network of family and friends to get started and gain momentum in your business.
  • It seems there is no training for new consultants.
  • Direct selling is a tough business that requires lots of work, e.g., organizing ‘Pampering Events,’ doing follow up phone calls, customer service, returns, exchanges, recruiting, etc.
  • There is a large number of competing companies who are selling similar items like Nutrimetics or Avon and are well established.
  • I doubt that you can make a good income with it.

Perfectly Posh – Is It The Perfect Business Choice For You?

It is an opportunity (not perfect by any means) for people

  • who love selling (especially body care products)
  • who love the direct selling industry
  • who like being on the phone and recruiting people.

Otherwise, it is a big ‘No.’ I don’t see any potential to make a halfway decent income with these products and with the company.

You need to put in a lot of effort for very little money. That’s why I gave Perfectly Posh a rating of 50/100.

Is There An Alternative?

Yes, there is a fantastic alternative for people who would love to work from home or location independently.

You can build your own website and promote products from different brands you genuinely love and feel passionate about. You can set your hours and work around your family without traveling, making phone calls or recruiting.
