MojiLife – Just A Scam Or Real Business Opportunity [Review]

MojiLife is fairly new in the direct selling marketing place. The company has been founded in October 2016.

Despite the fact that MojiLife has been operating for nearly three years, there is surprisingly little information available on the net.

In  my MojiLife review, I have put together as much data as possible to help you to make a decision whether or not you should become a part of the MojiLife.

My detailed review will not only talk about the joining process but also if you can make money with this MLM company.

Is MojiLife worth your time and can you actually make money with it?

For people who are looking for alternative ways to make an income besides direct selling, please read my recommendation at the end of this post.

MojiLife - Just A Scam Or Real Business Opportunity [Review]

What Is MojiLife?

mojilife logo

As mentioned earlier, MojiLife was founded in 2016 and therefore is quite a young company.

Darin Davis is the founder and CEO of this Utah based company.

Despite the young 'age', there are also operating not only in the US but also in Germany, Australia, and Canada.

MojiLife has specialized in fragrances and home decor products which make it a close competitor to similar companies such as PartyLite, Scentsy, and Pink Zebra.

There is not a lot of information about the company and its founder D. Davis available but it doesn't look like that Davis has had any experience in the direct selling industry.

This may or may be not an advantage for the business.

But the lack of information does not help to build trust into the company.

More About The MojiLife Products

MojiLife offers a wide range of products starting with its flagship product the AirMoji. It can be powered  by a battery which is rechargeable and can be controlled by your smartphone.

It is basically a diffuser to release MojiLife's fragrances without using candles to warm up the essential oils.

Other products include fragrance pods, essential oils, home decor, cleaning products, and sprays to freshen the air or to get rid of unwanted odor.

It is not clear where the products are made, but in an interview with the CEO, Davis declares that he has to make lots of phone calls to China.

On another MojiLife related blog it says that "MojiLife fragrances are imported from Europe and the United States. All fragrances conform to European and American standards and do not contain any banned ingredients. Fragrances are non-toxic, gluten free, and soy free."

There is clearly a FAQ's page missing on the companies website. As a customer I would expect to get essential information like this straight away without putting puzzle pieces together.

Product Return Policy

MojiLife offers a a one-year limited warranty.

"MojiLife warrants to the original purchaser that the product(s) purchased will be free from defects in workmanship and materials, for ONE YEAR from the date of purchase. This Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty covers any defects in workmanship or materials under normal use during the warranty period."

Please be aware that if you don't like a product, and send it back unused, MojiLife reserves the right to charge a 10% restocking fee.

How To Join MojiLife

The joining process is simple. You need a sponsor and some money to invest in one of the starter kits.

They start from $88 plus shipping and tax. So it would cost around $100 to get started.

The most expensive version is $295 plus tax and free shipping.

The basic starter kit includes the following items

  • AirMoji - White
  • Oregon Coast Fragrance Pod
  • Flower Child Fragrance Pod
  • Warm Teakwood Fragrance Pod
  • Sample Vial Set #1
  • Sample Vial Set #2
  • MojiMini - Blue
  • MojiLife Car Decal Big - 12" Wide
  • Kit Welcome Card
  • Bubble sticker
  • MojiLife Bracelet
  • MojiLife Host Cards
  • Distributor kit box
  • MojiLife Order Forms
  • MojiLife Distributor Guide
  • Desk Compensation plan
  • MojiLife Pocket Compensation Plan
  • Mojilife 5 pack US Catalog Q1

There are a lot of products for the price. It is not clear if you will get a replicated website with the starter kit and I haven't found any information about it.

What I did find out is that distributors sell MojiLife products primarily via home parties which they call 'MojiSocials'.

Once the party has generated at least $200 in sales, the hostess will receive a hostess gift valued at $30, a 20% Moji credit on retail sales, and 50%off on any one product.

Can You Make Money With MojiLife? The Compensation Plan

First up, the compensation plan is quite easy to understand.

All up, there are 8 ranks one can achieve starting with the Moji Associate, Moji Friend, Moji Consultant, Moji Advisor,  and Moji Specialist.

The last three ranks are life ranks: Life Champion, Life Expert, and the highest rank Life Premier.

As a Moji associate, you'll get 20% in commission which will increase to 25% once you qualified to the next rank Moji friend.

To qualify, you would need to accumulate 850 PRV (Personal Retail Volume).

To qualify for the higher ranks, a distributor need to sponsor new people into the company. The more you sponsor, the  more you will obviously earn in commission payments through additional bonus payments.

Read the full compensation plan here.

To remain active as a distributor, you must earn 50 PRV each month.

In the compensation plan, it says if you don't order 50 PRV each month for three month, you will become inactive.

Can You Make Money With MojiLife?

This question is not easy to answer due to the fact that there is no income disclosure available. Speaking from experience and reviewing countless other MLM companies, I'd say it is not easy to make a full time income with MojiLife.

The commission rate of 20 to 25% is not the highest, and the party plan model is a bit outdated.

Most people like to order online. and find it too difficult to organise parties.

MojiLife could be a good way to earn some extra income but it still requires consistent work to keep momentum going.

Before I talk about how you could make a good passive income with MojiLife (and other companies), let's have a quick look at the Pros and Cons of MojiLife.

The Pros Of MojiLife

  • The prices for the products are affordable with a wide range range to choose from.
  • The joining fee is reasonable.
  • A simple commission structure with a minimum of 20% on retail sales and additional bonus payments on team sales .

Here Are The Cons Of MojiLife

  • The party plan model is a bit outdated and it is not clear what other ways a distributor can sell the products to customers.
  • There is very little information about the company and the founder and CEO Darin Davis available.
  • The BBB rating is F which is based on the companies age and the fact that they haven't replied to two complains. MojiLife is not BBB accredited.

In Conclusion

It looks like that MojiLife is a legit direct selling company even though I wished there would be a bit more information about the CEO and the company itself available.

The compensation plan is pretty simple and the focus seems to be on the retail sales and not recruiting.

Still, chances are that you can only make a decent (passive income) by sponsoring new people into the company.

If you love fragrances and the social aspect of selling products via the party plan method, then MojiLife might be a good way of making some extra money.

But if you are looking to make a full time income, here is what I would recommend to earn money with MojiLife ...

How To Sell MojiLife (And Other Products) And Make Money

There is still a way to sell MojiLife and, as a matter of fact, any other products you'd like to promote and actually make money with it.

It is called affiliate marketing, an increasingly popular legit way of making a passive income.

The process is relatively simple. You share your affiliate link on your website, via Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest and if someone clicks on your link and makes a purchase, you'll earn a commission.

The key is to have your OWN website/blog.

That means you can build your own personal brand by creating a fashion blog, a lifestyle blog, or a 'mom' blog.

Doing it this way, you can promote any product you like, not just MojiLife.

There are literally hundreds of companies out there which have an affiliate program. The good news is that you  don't have to pay a joining fee at all.
