Origami Owl Custom Jewelry – Must Read Review

Let's talk about Origami Owl Custom Jewelry , a direct selling company, that focuses solely on women who are looking to work from home.

These kind of businesses are hugely successful because so many people are on the search for flexible working hours and the possibility to potentially earn a good income.

How about Origami Owl Custom Jewelry also known as O2? Does it offer a real income opportunity or is it just a waste of your time and effort?

My review covers only briefly the products and focuses more on the joining procedure, compensation plan, and finally if any money can made with being an Origami Owl designer.

At the end of this review, check out my favorite way how you could earn money with any product you feel passionate about.

What Is Origami Owl Custom Jewelry

Founded in 2010, this social selling company (that is what they call themselves) is based in Chandler, Arizona.

The story goes that Bella Weems-Lambert, who was around 14 years old back then, wanted to earn money to get her dream car for her 16th birthday.

Together with her mum Chrissy Weems, Bella and two more friends founded Origami Owls to achieve her goals.

Since 2017, Chrissy is now the CEO of the company.

Before Chrissy became the CEO, the company was led by Brett A. Blake who has lots of experience in the direct selling world. He was involved with Advocare, BeachBody, and USANA before he helped Origami through a difficult time.

Under his leadership Origami Owl became a Family of Brands by acquiring another direct selling company, Willing Beauty.

Origami Owl reminds me a lot of Stella&Dot who created KEEP Collective and Ever Skincare.

Origami Owl Custom Jewelry has now around 60 000 independent sales people on board (called designers) and is available in Puerto Rico and Canada as well.

The Origami Owl Products

Origami Owl Custom Jewelry offers charms, bracelets, and lockets to its customers.

The main product is the Living Locket, a clear hollow pendant that one can fill with a selection of charms.

Each customer can customize their lockets and this way can tell a personal story.

The products are manufactured in the US and Asia.

When I do my research one of my go-to sites is the Better Business Bureau to get a more detailed idea what the company is about.

I was surprised to see that there have been quite a few negative reviews regarding the product quality, and the customer service.

Unfortunately, further details about customer complaints are mostly not available. You can read more here.

Product Return Policy

If customers are not happy with the product, they can request a refund or replacement in the first 30 days.

For faulty items, there is a 90-day replacement warranty.

"The Signature Living Locket® Watch with Swarovski® Crystals comes with a one-year limited warranty on movement." [website]

How To Join Origami Owl

origami owl starter kit

You can become an O2 designer by choosing a starter kit from $49, $99, and $199.

All of the kits include jewelry, business tools like catalogs, a personalized website, and a three months trial of the My O2 connection app.

The two more expensive kits also include business supplies to showcase items at a Jewelry Bar, the in-home presentation.

O2 offers also the opportunity to sell the products to 11 to 17 years old who can become an "Owlette".

They can only do so if their parent or guardian is a O2 designer.

Show Me The Money - The Origami Owl Compensation Plan

origami owl compensation plan

O2 calls its compensation plan the 'Career Plan' which offers 15 ranks altogether.

Starting off as a designer, you can advance in the ranks by recruiting other people to become designers as well.

The minimum requirement to stay a designer is 75 Personal Volume a month. It is not clear how much exactly you will earn, only that you can make between 20% to 50% in commission sales.

So, how much sales volume does one need to get 50% commission? I couldn't find the answer yet. Maybe you, the reader could help. If you know it, please comment below.
